Q: What's with the name? A: We address ourselves as the non-Prophets because we feel we think about some interesting philosophical, moral, and sociological issues. In an attempt to make certain we don't take ourselves too seriously, we've also used a play on words in our naming scheme. To that end, we also point out that our school of thought lies with the tradition of Krishnamurti who did not wish to be the center of a belief system and encouraged all to find their own paths. Q: Why "Discorporated"? A: It means to "leave your body". It refers to our tendency to stick apart. In other words, it is our common belief that we should each believe our own thing. We pride ourselves on being a small group of people that gather now and again to share ideas. Q: What are you talking about? A: If you want to know more, contact us, we'll talk. But basically we talk about life and the universe, alternate realities, travel, morality, logic, law, and wax philosophically. Q: How many of you are there? A: At this point in time, there are three full "members", and two "junior" members. And tons of honorary guest members. If you want to hang out with smart folks, contact us -- we might know of someone in your area. Q: What is the story behind the five-pointed "mandela"? (top) A: We practice Discordianism, a 'religion' whose symbol is often represented by a five-sided geometric shape. In this mandela, there are five shapes inside each other, with a golden apple (another Discordian symbol) at its center, creating a strong piece with easily-recognizable forms. Moreover, the artist (damage) added five smaller shapes around the borders to make a more decorative work. places to go |--- back |--- email us: non-prophets AT non-prophets .dot. net
